HISTORY & CULTURE DESTINATIONS

El Salvador is a young nation with less than 500 years of modern history. But this land has been occupied for thousands of years. From early hunters and collectors to some of the greatest Mesoamerican civilizations such as the Olmecs, the Mayas and the Toltecs.
Three hundred years of Spanish colony, the Indigo trade, the Federation, the Coffee Republic, the military regimes, a Civil War, a democratic consolidation… and all the people that made it.
That makes El Salvador history and culture.
