As part of the reopening process of the Joya de Cerén archaeological park, the Ministry of Culture has established a pilot test period for three weekends in August, only for groups organized by licensed tour operators and tour guides.

The conditions of the pilot test period of the Joya de Cerén archaeological park, for groups organized by tour operators and licensed tourist guides are the following:

Saturdays and Sundays in August 2021: 14-15, 21-22, 28-29, from 9 am to 4 pm

Maximum groups of 15 visitors per tour.

Visitors and tour guides must show original or digital full vaccination card.

Strict watch with the COVID-19 safety protocol established in the archaeological park:

  • Handwashing
  • Use of hand sanitizer
  • All visitors, guides, drivers and staff of the archaeological park must wear face mask.
  • Estimated time for the visit: 35 minutes.

Parking fees:

  • Cars $ 1.00
  • Vans and mini-vans $ 3.00
  • Motorcycles $ 1.00

From the Ministry of Tourism, we make a special request to have the support of all of you, in the proper management of the promotion that you will carry out with costumers, since it is a “pilot test”, the archaeological park will remain closed to the public until September. This is a privileged access granted by the Ministry of Culture.
